Why Isn’t My Daily Automation Running?

Common causes and how to check your automation status.

SynaPost’s Daily Automation runs once a day via WP-Cron to generate any topics that are due.

Check the Dashboard

The SynaPost Dashboard’s “Today” panel shows when the next automated run is scheduled and how many topics are due.

Common causes of a missed run

  • Low-traffic sites: WP-Cron only fires on a page visit. A site with very little traffic may run its daily job late. Consider a real server cron job hitting wp-cron.php on a fixed schedule instead.
  • No AI provider connected: if no API key is set, the run fails with a clear “not connected” error in the log rather than generating anything – connect OpenRouter for free under Settings → AI & Images to fix it.
  • Provider or key problem: if the log shows a rejected key, an out-of-credits message, or a usage limit, see Understanding error messages for what each one means and how to fix it.
  • Daily generation cap reached: check Settings → Publishing → Max articles generated per run.

You can always trigger a run manually from the Dashboard’s “Run Queue Now” button.
