Understanding Topic Statuses and the Pipeline

What each status means and how a topic moves from idea to published.

Every topic moves through a small set of statuses as it goes from idea to published post. Knowing what each one means makes it easy to tell where things stand at a glance.

The statuses

  • Idea / not scheduled – sitting in your Content Library, not yet queued.
  • Queued – ready to be generated, either manually or by daily automation.
  • Generating – the AI Writer is actively working on it.
  • Pending approval – a draft exists and is waiting for you (or your team) to review it.
  • Approved – reviewed and cleared to publish.
  • Published – live on your site.
  • Rejected – reviewed and declined; it won’t publish as-is.
  • Failed – generation hit an error. The Pipeline shows the reason in plain language (hover over the icon). If automatic retry is enabled, the row also shows when the next attempt is scheduled. See Understanding error messages.

Where each status lives

Topics that are queued, generating, pending approval, approved, rejected, or failed all show up together in the Content Pipeline – this is your “in motion” view. Once a topic status becomes Idea / not scheduled it belongs to the Content Library, and once it’s Published it moves to Published Content.

You can open any topic from any of these three screens to see or change its status directly.
