How the SEO Score Is Calculated

The real checks behind your 0-100 score, from keyword placement to readability.

Every generated article gets a 0-100 SEO score, shown on the Dashboard, in the Approval Center, and on the Telegram approval card. It’s a fast, self-contained signal – not a replacement for your SEO plugin’s own analysis – built to mirror the checks a real on-page SEO tool runs.

What it checks

The score is the percentage of applicable checks an article passes, including:

  • Your focus keyword appearing in the title, SEO title, meta description, slug, opening paragraph, body content, and a subheading.
  • Keyword density landing in a healthy range (not stuffed, not absent).
  • A minimum word count, and the presence of H2 and H3 headings.
  • At least one internal link to your own content.
  • A Table of Contents, for longer articles with three or more H2s.
  • A featured image being set.
  • Readability, measured with the Flesch Reading Ease formula.
  • Whether the title includes a number or a proven “power” or sentiment word (the kind of headline pattern shown to improve engagement).

Why “applicable” matters

A check that genuinely doesn’t apply to a given piece – like the Table of Contents check on a short article with fewer than three H2s – is left out of the score entirely rather than counted as an automatic fail. That keeps shorter, simpler content from being unfairly penalized.

Where the score comes from

SynaPost writes your focus keyword, SEO title, and meta description into whichever of Yoast, Rank Math, or All in One SEO you have active (or its own fallback fields if you don’t use one), then scores the result – so the number reflects what your actual SEO plugin will show visitors and search engines.
