3.6.5

SynaPost Oct 6, 2026
Improvement

Free OpenRouter models are now the default, with more reliable generation, plain-language errors, and an easier way to switch models.

Changed

  • OpenRouter’s free models are now the default provider for a fresh install, replacing Google Gemini. One key gives you access to a whole catalog of free models. Gemini moves to SynaPost Pro. Existing connections and defaults are unaffected, and nobody needs to reconnect.
  • Generation failures now show one short message that says what went wrong and what to do: out of credits, a daily or per-minute usage limit, a missing or rejected key, a connection problem, a temporarily unavailable model, or a model that needs SynaPost Pro. The full technical detail is kept for troubleshooting.
  • A rejected or missing AI provider key now stops right away, instead of trying other models with the same bad key.
  • The Approval Center’s “Regenerate” instructions are now a proper dialog instead of a browser popup.

Added

  • Automatic model fallback: if the configured model fails, SynaPost keeps trying other models from the same provider until one works. This also applies to the Strategy Planner.
  • Scheduled retry: a topic that fails outright retries automatically after a delay (configurable and capped), instead of staying failed. The Content Pipeline shows the last error and when the next attempt is scheduled.
  • The Content Pipeline updates live. Retries, model switches, and background generations appear within seconds, with no reload.
  • Change model on the connected OpenRouter card. It switches models using your saved key, so you don’t need to paste it again.
  • A search box above the AI model lists, matching by model name or model ID.
  • A free-model reliability note on the connect flow, Pipeline, and Strategy Planner, shown only when you’re actually using a free model.
  • Target Keywords on the Strategy Planner. Each keyword you type is guaranteed its own topic.

Fixed

  • A PHP execution-timeout issue during generation.
  • An OpenRouter reasoning-budget issue that could return no output.
  • Custom regeneration instructions not always being honored.
  • A failed regeneration sometimes being reported as a success.
  • No way to make OpenRouter the default again without re-entering its key.
  • Error messages in the Content Pipeline overflowing or displaying incorrectly.
  • The SEO score’s subheading check missed H4 to H6.

3.6.4

SynaPost Sep 23, 2026
Improvement

A more reliable Strategy Planner, a 7-day plan option, and deletes that stay in sync with WordPress.

Added

  • A 7-day option in the Strategy Planner’s Plan Length.

Fixed

  • Deep Research’s OpenAI web search used a model OpenAI has retired. It now uses gpt-5-search-api, OpenAI’s documented replacement.
  • The Strategy Planner could fall well short of the requested topic count (for example a 30-day plan at 3 posts a day could produce as few as 14 topics). It now requests more topics to make up any shortfall, up to 5 rounds, until it reaches the requested count or can’t find more good angles for your niche.

Changed

  • Deleting a topic from the Content Library, Pipeline or Published Content now also moves its linked WordPress post to the Trash, so it stays recoverable.
  • Permanently deleting a post from Posts or Pages in wp-admin now removes its linked SynaPost topic too. Moving a post to the Trash still leaves its topic alone.

3.6.3

SynaPost Sep 17, 2026
Fix

Email approvals work again.

Fixed

  • The email approval confirmation page’s form was completely non-functional: its form, dropdown and hidden fields (including the CTA Preset picker, a Pro feature) were being stripped by an overly strict sanitization pass. This affected every action (Publish, Regenerate, Cancel), not only the CTA picker.

3.6.2

SynaPost Aug 17, 2026
Fix

Security hardening and stability fixes.

Security

  • Added server-side whitelist validation for Topic status/priority/difficulty/content type/content style, switched Business Profile’s Website and Button Link fields to WordPress’s URL sanitizer, validated a topic’s rescheduled date server-side, added a file-size cap to CSV/XLSX topic import, and capped the daily article-generation limit.

Fixed

  • Plugin deactivation/deletion could leave the daily generation cron running.
  • Readme Stable tag was out of sync with the plugin version.

Removed

  • An admin-notice-suppression feature.

3.6.1

SynaPost Aug 16, 2026
Improvement

Hardened the boundary between the free plugin and Pro: several Pro features had their implementation fully separated into the Pro plugin.

  • Real AI Thumbnails, Content Gap Suggestions, Finer Automation Control, the SEO enforced-minimum retry loop, Deep Research, Custom Prompts, and Content Refresh moved fully into SynaPost Pro – Lite now contains only genuinely free functionality.
  • Security: sanitized an import filename before use, escaped two outputs that were previously unescaped, converted an admin-menu stylesheet to use WordPress’s standard enqueue APIs instead of a raw inline tag.
  • Added an External Services section to the readme, documenting SynaPost’s use of the OpenAI and Telegram APIs.
